Dr. Rouben Aroutiounian, PhD

Dr. Rouben Aroutiounian is Secretary of Natural Sciences National Academy of Science and Member of the Presidium of National Academy of Science Republic of Armenia. He is a distinguished geneticist, Professor, and Head of the Department of Genetics and Cytology at Yerevan State University, where he also directs the Laboratory of General and Molecular Genetics. His landmark doctoral research explored the mechanisms of antimutagens in protecting human cells against chemical mutagens, laying foundational insights for modern cellular resilience and environmental toxicology. Dr. Aroutiounian has dedicated his career to understanding how human DNA interacts with its environment. With over five decades of research and academic leadership, his core expertise spans mutagenesis, molecular cytogenetics, ecological genetics, and eco-toxicological genetics, providing invaluable, data-driven insights into how cellular mechanisms protect themselves and recover from external environmental stressors. Notably, his foundational doctoral research focused heavily on the mechanisms of antimutagens and how they mitigate the damaging effects of chemical mutagens in human cells—laying the essential groundwork for modern preventative and protective gene-based medicine. Throughout his career, he has published extensive research evaluating DNA damage and repair kinetics, the genotoxic impact of environmental toxins like mycotoxins, and cellular resilience. Currently, Dr. Aroutiounian leads vital research initiatives utilizing diverse test systems to evaluate mutagenic environmental pollutants and monitor their ongoing impact on public health. For the past five years, he has directed a major scientific project investigating genomic instability in COVID-19 patients. Dr. Aroutiounian is the author of extensive literature and research on DNA damage and repair kinetics. He has published more than 300 papers as well as two monographs, two textbooks, and 12 encyclopedic chapters. Notably, his monograph with Prof. Erich Gebhart, Anticlastogens in Mammalian and Human Cells (Springer-Verlag), is dedicated to chromosome protection against chemical mutagens using antimutagenic substances. Globally recognized for his contributions to genomic stability, Dr. Aroutiounian has served on the Scientific Committee of the International Barcode Life Consortium and as Chairman of the National Scientific Council on Natural Property. He is a multilingual leader fluent in English, Russian, Armenian, French, and German, who has actively shaped international scientific governance. Stan Stukov BS-EECS, MSCS

Stan Stukov is an accomplished technology executive, inventor, and bioinformatics pioneer with over three decades of leadership across genomics, enterprise AI, and software engineering. He played a foundational role in the emergence of modern transcriptomics as a founding team member and Head of Software Development at Synteni, Inc. Founded in 1994, Synteni was the first commercial company built around spotted cDNA gene-expression microarrays, commercializing the technology developed at Patrick Brown’s Stanford University. Stan spearheaded the software architecture for the Gene Expression Microarray (GEM) platform. This breakthrough enabled the parallel, quantitative measurement of thousands of active genes simultaneously, shifting biological research to analyzing whole-genome expression patterns and established the foundation for modern transcriptomics, disease classification, and pharmacogenomics. Following Synteni’s acquisition Stan served as Vice President of Informatics, managing bioinformatics databases and analytical tools as the company scaled its platform to cover roughly 60,000 human genes. Beyond his pioneering work in life sciences, Stan has scaled high-growth enterprise software and logistics companies. He has an extensive background holding core leadership and engineering management roles at Intel, Microsoft, Rubic, Enkata Technologies and Fujitsu. He currently serves as CEO of ePeople AI, developing AI-driven operational solutions for healthcare, and as President and CEO of VinTelligent, Inc., overseeing a logistics platform connecting global automotive manufacturers. Previously, he served as President and CTO at Enkata Technologies prior to its acquisition by Pegasystems, and as Vice President of Engineering at Rubric, culminating in a $480 million acquisition by Broadbase Software. Drawing on his foundational experience in gene-expression analysis, [Name] is passionate about applying a data-driven approach to modern wellness.
